Carrying a Concealed Weapon is serious business and that’s why our concealed carry courses are designed to help applicants attain the knowledge, skills and the ability to SAFELY and COMPETENTLY handle, use and carry firearms.

You will learn the laws and regulations relating to the application, issuance and the concealed carry of a handgun. You will be taught statutory and case law relating to the use of a firearm, self-defense, defense-of-property and the use-of-deadly-force.

Strong emphasis is placed on your responsibility as the result of the firing of your firearm, where the projectile (bullet) ultimately stops and the circumstances leading up to the actual firing of the firearm.

In today’s society, the handgun is one of the most-effective means of personal protection and self-defense, and South Carolina law, the Law Abiding Citizens Self-Defense Act of 1996 makes it possible for citizens to carry a handgun for that purpose, provided it is carried in a concealed manner.

South Carolina law provides that residents and qualified non-residents, upon proper application to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED), shall be issued a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

QUALIFICATIONS: The applicant must be at least 21-years of age and not be prohibited by law from owning and possessing a firearm. The applicant mustattend and successfully pass a handgun education course which must include statutory and case law relating to handguns, the use-of-deadly force, handgun use and safety, proper storage methods and the actual live-fire (50-rounds) of a handgun in the presence of a SLED Certified Firearms Instructor. The applicant must receive a score of 70% or greater on the written exam and the handgun firing qualification.

If you meet the above requirements, you can get a South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit and provide the means to SAFELY and LEGALLY protect yourself and your loved ones.
